On several occasions, particularly on the periphery of the Habsburg Empire during the 17th and 18th centuries, dead people were suspected of being revenants or vampires, and consequently dug up and destroyed. Some contemporary authors named this phenomenon Magia Posthuma. This blog is dedicated to understanding what happened and why.

From tyrant to vampire
Apropos of my recent post, here is another example of a magazine article on Vlad Dracula. It is in Danish, but probably translated from some other language.

The article is by Thomas Blom. It was published simultaneously as "Dracula - tyrannen, der blev forvandlet til vampyr" in the Danish magazine Alt om historie #10, 2008, and as "Dracula - vampyrfursten som funnits på riktigt" in the Swedish edition, Allt om Historia #10, 2008.
